About the Role

Quantum Institute of Science and Technology is seeking an Adjunct Professor of Applied AI, Machine Learning & Digital Systems to deliver instruction across our Digital Engineering and Digital Business programs. This role is ideal for experienced academics and practitioners who can bridge machine learning, software systems, and business-facing AI applications in a practical, outcomes-driven learning environment. You'll play a key role in delivering rigorous, applied instruction aligned with approved academic curriculum and workforce needs.

Teaching Scope

Digital Engineering
  • Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), Agile and Waterfall methodologies
  • Programming fundamentals (Python and/or Java)
  • QA Automation concepts and testing frameworks
  • Machine Learning foundations and applied AI techniques
  • LLMs, prompt engineering, RAG, and AI system integration
  • Capstone project guidance and presentations
Digital Business
  • IT fundamentals and technology-business alignment
  • Agile frameworks, product and business analysis
  • Requirements elicitation, documentation, and backlog management
  • AI for business professionals (no-code / low-code platforms)
  • Responsible AI, ethics, and business impact
  • Business-focused capstone projects

Responsibilities

  • Deliver approximately 40 hours of live instruction per cohort
  • Facilitate applied exercises, discussions, and case studies
  • Guide students through projects and capstone work
  • Provide optional office hours or mentoring based on instructional approach
  • Collaborate with academic leadership to ensure instructional quality and curriculum alignment
Time Commitment
  • ~40 hours of live instruction per cohort
  • Additional preparation time varies by approach
  • Remaining program hours are student-led practice and applied labs
Compensation & Incentives
  • $60 - $125 per hour (live instruction)
  • Cohort-based total: $2,500 - $5,000
  • Spot and performance-based bonuses available

Qualifications

Minimum
  • Master's degree in Machine Learning, Computer Science, AI, Data Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or related field
  • Demonstrated ability to teach or apply machine learning and digital systems concepts
  • Strong communication skills with both technical and non-technical audiences
Preferred
  • Prior teaching or adjunct faculty experience
  • Industry experience in AI/ML, software engineering, QA automation, product, or digital transformation roles
  • Experience mentoring adult learners and career changers
  • Familiarity with applied, project-based or capstone-driven learning models
Work Authorization
